Jaelyn's Wet and Fun 6th Birthday Party

Jaelyn's 6th birthday party was an absolute blast. We planned for a wet and fun day and then prayed the wet would come from the hoses and not the sky. God listened and the rain held off until the last guests were literally running out the door to beat it (they didn't make it btw). We started the party at 11:00 with kids outside. In my logical brain, I divided the yard into 3 areas: 1 for the 3 slip 'n slides, 1 for the rocket sprinkler and 1 for water balloons. I should back up and say yea for parents who used to have a nursery in their backyard. There are hose spigots everywhere. My yard division didn't work out exactly how I had planned, mainly with the water balloons. We've spent several days picking up over 400 popped balloons out of the grass. Baba deserves extra cheers with the water balloons because we had originally only filled up about 1 50. The kids went through those in about 5 minutes. Mom spent the next hour and a half sitting on a stool filling up 300 more balloons. The kids were very orderly and formed a single file line to get their ammunition. The rocket sprinkler also became the worlds largest water gun. Did I mention the kids had fun???

In all, we had 12 kids (my kids, Nick, Jared, Cassidy, Delaney, Jackson, Brody, Hope, Halle and Hudson) and nearly that many adults. The kids played with the water, bubbles, and side walk paint while Uncle Chad played grill master and cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for us. The kids camped out on blankets and had a nice picnic in the yard while most of the adults preferred to dine inside and enjoy the air conditioning. After everyone had dried off, we had cake and ice cream inside followed by the opening of presents. Thank you to everyone who came and made Jaelyn's 6th birthday such a memorable event!
